1. It serves as a raw material in the pharmaceutical industry, widely used to relieve excess stomach acid and act as an antacid ingredient. It also functions as an analytical reagent, for inorganic synthesis, and in the treatment of acidemia, boasting a broad range of pharmaceutical applications.
2. Applied in film production, leather tanning, mineral beneficiation, smelting, metal heat treatment, as well as the fiber and rubber industries.
3. Used as a detergent for wool.
4. Applied for seed soaking in agriculture.
5. A common leavening agent for making biscuits, pastries, steamed buns, bread and other baked foods.
6. Acts as a carbon dioxide generator in carbonated drinks and sodas.
7. Blended with alum to produce alkaline baking powder.
